BROKEN DREAMS

I feel as if I’m sailing,

On a sea of ‘Broken Dreams’.

And what you think your seeing,

Isn’t always what it seems!

I’m drowning in a whirlpool,

I’ve created with my tears.

You all think I’m OK but,

Make-up hides my inner fears.

It’s easy to pretend,

Tell the world you didn’t see.

Did you really never notice,

What was happening to me…?

I don’t blame you, it’s much easier,

To look the other way.

Convince yourself and others,

I’m alive, so I’m OK.

But what you never knew,

Cannot see with just a glance,

Is the place I long to be,

Where I drift to, when I’ve a chance.

It’s there that dreams are real,

The nicest place I’ve ever known.

I fly on ‘Angels Wings’,

‘Til I reach the place called ‘Home’.

No promise there is empty,

No-one takes, and doesn’t give.

Every soul forever loving,

Every heart so sensitive.!

And I run in fields of flowers,

So tranquil and so calm.

Eternally protected,

And safe from any harm.

But then my dreams are shattered,

As reality kicks in.

My eyes, they open wide,

As another day begins.

But one day soon, I know,

I will reach the ‘Rainbows End’.

And when God calls me ‘Home’.

These ‘BROKEN DREAMS’ of mine will end…!
