Issue 2

Wow what a fantastic response to our first issue, thank you all so much for the kind words of encouragement - it means so much to us, particularly during the frustrating times.
Speaking of which, we are really sorry to all of those people who have contacted us from Leeds and Northampton, but apparently the service providers in your areas do not see the value that Reflections has in showcasing the talent of service users to a national audience. Obviously we must respect their decision, but it is particularly frustrating as we knew there is some excellent work going on in those areas, particularly Leeds.
On a much more positive note the list of supporters continues to grow, and we would like to extend a warm welcome and our thanks and appreciation to County Durham PCT, 5 Boroughs, Central and North West London, Sheffield Care Trust and Lincolnshire Partnership Trust. Your support means so much to us and we are delighted to feature the work of artists in many of these areas in this our second issue. As always the quality of the work featured is exceptional.
Please remember that we are happy to publicise the work, and any events taking place within the services who support Reflections, and please keep sending in your work.

Final Thought

Health services are not just about clinical care provided in a sterile environment. It’s also about the patient experience which can be greatly enhanced by providing an environment where the value of art is recognised and appreciated. So when cuts are made, art should not be the first thing that suffers.
