Celebrate World Mental Health Day by joining CoolTan Arts Largactyl Shuffle

‘No Health without Mental Health’ Saturday 15th October 2011, 11.30am

Starting at Maudsley Hospital Main Entrance, Denmark Hill, London, SE5 8AZ

Join CoolTan Arts’ BIG Largactyl Shuffle from Maudsley Hospital (mad house)to(power house) Tate Modern, a fun guided cultural walk with poetry readings and other surprises raising much needed money, please donate to http://www.justgiving.com/CoolTan-Arts. The route will be exploring ‘No Health without Mental Health’ and delves into the history and social impact of the NHS, ‘From cradle to grave’ since 1948.

Comedian and broadcaster Arthur Smith is leading our 2011 Largactyl Shuffle.  Supporting CoolTan’s Sponsored Walk and Promoting World Mental Health Day this year, is something I am pleased to do especially as I have had friends and family who have suffered clinical depression. Since I love both walking and London I am very much looking forward to the walk  and to discovering more about Southwark, the area I grew up in. As an occasional (unreliable) tour guide I may need to point out places of interest myself. I am also looking forward to meeting those who'll be at the sponsored Shuffle-kicking the system's boredom into touch.”

This year there will also be an exclusive opportunity to witness a special tree planting ceremony on the Largactyl Shuffle route and be part of history in the making, as CoolTan Arts Gingko tree is planted on Camberwell Green as part of a our Cleaner Greener Safer commission, awarded by Southwark Council.
