Celebrate International Women’s Day with CoolTan ArtsArt exhibition

Q: What do comediennes Jenny Eclaire and Emma Thompson, model Erin O’Connor, nursing pioneer Florence Nightingale and social reformer Octavia Hill, C18th cookery writer Hannah Glasse and diarist and arts patron Hester Thrale, feminist Mary Wallstonecraft, champion of poor and disadvantaged women Dr Selina Fox and simply ripping childrens’ author Enid Blyton have in common with Winchester Geese? Apart from the fact they are all women?
A: Southwark: yes, it’s another Largactyl Shuffle...This time celebrating International Women’s Day. Discover famous and inspiring women in and around Southwark on CoolTan Arts' International Women's Day Largactyl Shuffle, a guided cultural walk through Southwark from the Maudsley Hospital to Tate Modern, promoting mental and physical wellbeing, through art, exercise, humour and history.
And if you want to know what Winchester Geese are see you on the 6th!Walkers meet at 12 noon at the main entrance of Maudsley Hospital, Denmark Hill, SE5 8AZ. The celebration continues on 8th March with CoolTan Arts Open Day and Conference! This will be your chance to try your hands on batik, visual arts and poetry, and join the debate "My mother myself".
The conference will also showcase the new art exhibition ‘Women that inspire you’. CoolTan Arts opens a new art exhibition “Women that inspire you”, running from 6th March to 30th April. Pop into CoolTan Arts Independent Gallery and visit the art exhibition. All artworks are for sale. All events are free and everyone is welcome to join.
