Start in Salford reaches the final of the People's Millions
Wednesday, November 17, 2010 Start in Salford Creative Arts and Wellbeing Centre has been shortlisted in the final of The People's Millions which is to be broadcast on the 22nd November on Granada Tonight.
The People's Millions is a partnership between the Big Lottery Fund and ITV and offers a £50,000 grant to create a community project. The winner is decided by the viewing public who vote for their favourite.
Start in Salford's project involves transforming a disused space in the centre of Salford's Buile Hill Park into a thriving community growing space. Our work would enhance the park, increase its use, and enable members to work alongside the community to grow their own fruit, vegetables, herbs and flowers.
During the broadcast a telephone number will be given for the public to vote.
Start in Salford are in the Granada category in competition with Liverpool's Oakmere Community College.
